- Before lighting, trim the wick to about 0.5 cm (0.2 in). A wick that's too long can produce black smoke.
- After lighting, do not drip wax directly onto skin. Test your tolerance on the back of your hand first.
- Tilt the candle at about a 45° angle during use — this helps prevent incomplete burning, which can cause black smoke.
- Tilt the candle slowly so wax falls in small drops. Avoid letting large amounts of wax pool together, as this can raise the temperature too high.
- Hold the candle 15–35 cm (6–14 in) above the skin. The greater the distance, the more the wax cools before landing, and the milder the sensation.
- This product has a melting point of approximately 44°C (111°F). Once lit, the flame continuously heats the surrounding wax pool, which can push its temperature above 44°C (overheating). Do not let overheated wax drip onto skin — this can cause burns. We recommend not letting the first few drops after lighting touch the skin. If the wax appears overheated, extinguish the flame and let it solidify before using again.
- Let the first layer of wax solidify before adding a new layer, to prevent heat from building up. Layering this way also makes the wax easier to peel off afterward.
- Because this product has a low melting point, wax applied to warmer areas of the body (such as the palms) may not fully solidify and can be harder to peel off. If this happens, scrape it off gently with a card or rinse with 40°C (104°F) water for easy cleanup.
- Avoid sensitive areas (eyes, joints, mucous membranes, or broken skin). If skin shows persistent redness or stinging, apply a cold compress immediately and stop use.
- While lit, you can rotate the candle to prevent the wick from tipping and dripping unexpectedly, and to help the wax melt more evenly.
